About Us

Growing healthy children and helping seniors thrive as they age in their community.

Generations Together, a program sponsored by the New West Willow Neighborhood Association, Odindi Youth Action Village and the Community Family Life Center envision a thriving, culturally rich community within the West Willow neighborhood, empowered individuals of every age, and programs that facilitate connection. Our work takes place in neighborhood community gardens.

A better community.

If we can impact the standing of older adults in society, and nurture what they can bring through intergenerational connections, then we can achieve a better community with improved quality of life for all ages. Everyone has the ability, to the extent to which they have the choice, to live the kind of life they want. "Older people teach the young how to be and how to become.

“And so, a strong, healthy, intergenerational web of community grows.”

Where the young and old connect naturally.

The dance of love and lore between the old and young is at the center, not the fringes, of our evolutionary and remarkable stories

A lot of our older adults have been through ordeals that we can’t even imagine. Most of have made sacrifices to ensure that the next generation will be in better hands from the moment we’re born until we grew up to be who we are today.

The vulnerabilities of the young are reminders of how intimately related we are to some of our greatest human strengths – our capacities for learning, resilience, cooperation, perseverance, culture and hopes for the future.
